How is the "Theoretical Flange Splice Location" in the Dimensions table determined?

   That location between tenth points is determined which represents the limiting location where the smaller dimensions of the splice can be placed without violating stress limits.  The search is done using the "Golden Section" search technique, also called "successive side strip elimination."
