PRMITP

Purpose:  Used to define permit truck loading in LFD or LRFD projects.

-->    Given in girder system input in Girder System Projects.  Given in girder input in Line Girder Projects.

A list of axle loads (kips or kN) for user-defined permit truck for Strength II calculations (also see PRMITSP ).  In girder system projects the permit truck occupies only the lane closest to the girder for which effects are being determined, although this can by modified as described in FAQ #26.  In a line girder LFD project, PRMITP effects are added to the standard truck effects.

[Note: For shorter span bridges you may need to reduce the permit truck to only the critical portion that falls within the total of the spans.]

[Note: to maximize reactions you may need to orient the truck so that the 2nd axle is more of a governing location than the 2nd-to-last axle would be.]
