Purpose: Used to determine shear connector spacing at the pier.

The 2003 curved girder specification and 6.10.10.1 in the 3rd edition LRFD use the uncracked slab in the negative moment region over the pier for determining shear connector spacing. Specifications for straight girders do not. This condition is effective only for straight girders.
